It really bothers me to see so many people accusing slash shippers of only RPing m/m or f/f to fulfill some kind of sexual fantasy. Yes, there probably are people who act like that, but sometimes slash ships just work better with certain characters in their roleplay. Stop acting as though everyone just wants to fetishise homosexual relationships, because that isn’t necessarily the case.

Ha. The only people who complain about homosexual m/m romance are dudes insecure about their sexuality and people who play female characters and are put off when their prospective male love interest likes other dudes.

You know it’s true.

WOAH, LOOKS LIKE IT’S RANTING TIME.

No, it is not true. You’re actually so mistaken I don’t even know where to start with!

I’ll make this short because, honestly? I’m not interested in arguing with anyone nor I want to impose my views on no one, I just want to point out that meanwhile I do have gay ships (Even otps),  slash fangirls tend to do the same heterosexual porn industry does with lesbians, they fetishise sexuality and turn it into an object. And that is not okay. Never, ever.

What’s more concerning in my opinion, isn’t the girls who want to rp female characters and “complain” because their love interest is into guys, the problem is

  1. Many times that implies the roleplayer goes completely against the canon sexuality of the male character
  2. Both the female character and roleplayer ends up being object of bullying.
  3. Women (slash fangirls) show the tendency to be sexist towards women (fictional, but women.)

I cannot even count all the times I’ve seen female characters being hated on fandoms because they “wreck” popular ships.

I’ll give an example. Anakin and Padmé. Anakin is in love with Padmé since he’s a little boy, she is a 90% of the reason of his fall, she is the reason of pretty much everything about his life. Roleplaying and studying his character implies appreciating the love and obsession he has for the woman in question. However, I’ve come across a lot of people who say “LALALA SHUT UP ANAKIN IS GAY FOR OBI-WAN. PADMÉ IS A WHORE.”

And sorry but that reasoning is simply stupid.

Pepper Pots, Jane Foster, Guinevere Pendragon and the list goes on. Fangirls hate on female characters instead of embracing them, isn’t that ironic? Why are male pairings better than straight or lesbian pairings? Isn’t it sexist? Let me answer that: It is.

I do recognise not all the slash fangirls are like this neither all the gay ships in roleplay are badly or poorly written, that’s clear.

Again, this is nothing against gay ships, I am myself a very gay person and have many gay ships, however, in my opinion is concerning to see women being so aggressive and rude and disrespectful towards female characters. And stating that people who complain about it are sexually frustrated dudes or girls who crave for self inserting themselves is a ridiculous assumption and you should probably think of your choices.

Have a good day~

And I can’t even believe that femmeslash was brought up, because it’s so very rarely done in the first place, and when it is, it’s often just done to get the females out of the way of a male-slash ship.

BASICALLY

I have my own theories about why this generation of women are so aggressive against other women but I won’t get in to it because every time I do, I end up with askbox fulls of “U R A HOMOPHOBE”

but this is a good dissection of the argument and I appreciate it so I’m reblogging it.
